Research Software Camp: Next steps in coding

Are you thinking of attending a foundational research software course? Have you recently attended one but don’t know where to go from there? Are you an intermediate research software developer and would like to further develop your skills or train others?

Our spring Research Software Camp: Next steps in coding will focus on improving computational and training skills and exploring existing resources out there. The Camp will be held from 16th to 27th May 2022.

Through the two weeks, we host a mix of live sessions, such as workshops aimed at various levels of expertise, run a mentorship programme and a software surgery, and publish resources on our website and social media.

Panel Discussion: Research software career paths and training needs

The panel discussion at the Research Software Camp: Next Steps in Coding explores the current challenges and gaps in training and skills around following specific career pathways in research software in academia and industry. Each panellist represents a different career.

Workshops

We host a variety of free workshops to help you take the Next Steps in Coding throughout the Camp from 16 - 27 May.

Software Surgery

Throughout the Camp we run a free Software Surgery in allocated 20 minute-slots which aim to provide a safe and welcoming space for people to get advice on their software challenges. It is open to anyone looking to get expert advice on any aspect of software development from a Research Software Engineer (RSE).
