Selina Aragon
Associate Director of Operations
Based in Edinburgh, Selina joined the Software Sustainability Institute in 2016 as the Software Sustainability Institute Communications Officer. In 2018, she became the SSI Communications Lead and in 2020 the Research Software Camps Chair.
In 2023, Selina became SSI Associate Director of Operations and Communications Lead. Her role focuses on optimising the SSI's day-to-day activities, which includes streamlining operational processes, improving planning across all our teams and prioritising wellbeing among staff.
Selina holds a BA in English Arts from UNAM (Mexico) and an MSc in Comparative Literature from the University of Edinburgh. She has previously worked for the Edinburgh Centre for Robotics and the School of Engineering, as well as in the publishing sector in Mexico and Scotland.
She loves language teaching (Spanish & English) and is a freelance professional translator and editor. She previously volunteered as a Spanish Social Media Manager and Reviewer at Asymptote, the internationally renowned literary translation journal.
