In the latest episode of the Code for Thought podcast Peter Schmidt speaks to Bastian Greshake-Tzovaras about citizen science.
Very little is known about the microfibres in the air in our homes: How many are there? Are they mostly plastic or other materials? What are the main sources?   The Homes Under the Microscope project aims to harness the power of citizen science to answer all these questions.
While citizen science in a way predates our connected software age it has gained substantial popularity in recent years as software-facilitated citizen science projects can now easily rely on volunteers from all around the world thanks to the internet.
