Sam Mangham
Research Software Engineer
Sam has a background in high-performance radiation modelling for fusion and astrophysics, and a PhD from the University of Southampton on modelling the signatures of the environments around super-massive black holes.
After being introduced to the Society by the Southampton Research Software Group in 2017, Sam's helped the Society develop and deliver training schemes and workshops, and represented it at conferences. Alongside, he works as a Senior RSE at the University of Southampton, training researchers, consulting on and developing academic software.
He's also a Trustee of the Society of RSE, and leads their Mentoring scheme and Conference and Events group.
