Lucie Ellen Woellenstein

Lucie works as part of the Software Sustainability Institute (SSI) communications team to organise events such as the Research Software Camp and update the website and blog. She is also in her final year of her PhD in Health in Social Science at the University of Edinburgh. She has a particular interest in data-driven policy and solutions to social exclusions in public health. In her research, she explores the feasibility of using machine learning and the available administrative data to figure out what works in homelessness prevention. She is a big advocate for helping those academia and the public sector enhance their data science and coding skills. As such, she also acts as a course coordinator and instructor for Edinburgh Carpentries Data Upskilling Short Courses.
