An update on the SSI social media channels

Keeping in touch with our communities and reaching out to new ones is a fundamental aspect of what the SSI stands for, and social media has been one of our main communication tools. As we started reviewing our communications strategy, we could not ignore how diverse our audience has become over the years. Much has changed in the evolving social media landscape and we are aware our communities have requested that we broaden our efforts to connect with them. We are also keen to keep all our doors open so that those who do not know us yet can find out about the work that we do and the help we provide.

To do so we have decided to focus our efforts on these social media channels:

LinkedIn has seen a recent surge in popularity and we are very happy to see our follower count grow every month. Most of our partners and friends use LinkedIn regularly and it is a great way to connect with people that attend our events and courses. Going forward we wish for LinkedIn to become our main social media channel.

Since the suspension of our X account in May we have worked to restore access to it but have not been able to get in touch with the X help centre and eventually resigned to the fact that it may have been deleted. Although we considered switching to an alternative platform, we realise many people follow us there and wish to keep engaging with us on X. The popularity of X also means it is an easy way for people who do not know about us to find out about the SSI. For this reason, we have decided to reopen our X account and we invite all those who wish to do so to follow us there.

Many members of our communities have asked us to join Mastodon as an alternative to X. We took the first step and opened an account, now it's up to you to follow us and make it grow!

The SSI YouTube channel is the go-to place for all our videos. If you want to catch up with any of our events and courses, we record and upload all content there. Do not forget to subscribe and click on the bell icon to be notified of all our latest uploads.

Going forward, we will monitor our social media presence and adjust our strategy based on the engagement we get and the changes within the social media landscape.
