In collaboration with The Carpentries and some members of the Carpentry community, we are launching the Lesson Study Groups - a new programme to support community members wishing to develop new lessons in The Carpentries Incubator

The Lesson Study Groups programme will bring community members together to develop their lessons as a cohort. Participants will benefit from the process by learning and discussing good practices in lesson design and share their experience as they build their lessons. By the end of the program, participants will have gained practical experience of the backwards design approach to lesson development, written and taught at least one section of their lesson, prepared a plan for the remaining material, and set up a repository to facilitate further collaborative development of their lesson.

The Lesson Study Groups programme will run weekly from the beginning of February to April and we are planning to run several rounds during the year. A summary of the planned week-by-week schedule is available on the Lesson Study Groups website.

More details on the programme, its objectives, and who is involved in running it can be found on The Carpentries website. The call for the first round is now closed but please get in touch with us if you are interested in applying for the next rounds (dates to be announced).
