IPCLC - IP, copyright, licensing and commercialisation workshop - 11 December in Oxford - free to attend!
The Software Sustainability Institute is running a one-day workshop on 11 December in Oxford 2014 on the subject of Intellectual Property (IP), copyright, licensing and commercialisation. The event is free to attend (registration required).
Researchers often wonder, or simply don't know, about IP issues related to their work. In particular those who work with software and data often have a host of questions, but lack the right people to ask.
The IPCLC workshop brings together researchers and other research professionals (such as Research Software Engineers) and gets them up to speed on IP, copyright, licensing and other aspects of commercialisation that are pertinent to their work. The workshop empowers attendees with the ability to make decisions about the digital assets they produce (software, data and models), whilst allowing them to make contacts with the right people if they want to ask for further advice.
We have several key registrations from university staff with the responsibility for IP and knowledge transfer at their institutions, and we highly encourage more of these people to attend. Commercial organisations who are interested in working with researchers on start-ups will also be attending.
Come to IPCLC to get your voice heard and your questions answered.
