The deadline for proposals for participant-led mini-workshops and social activities at Collaborations Workshop 2022 (CW22) is 23:59 GMT on Friday 4 February.

Proposers will be notified of the outcomes by 18 February 2022. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your proposal prior to submission, please email CW22 Chair Rachael Ainsworth

Mini-workshops and demo sessions

Mini-workshop and demo sessions offer unique opportunities for CW22 participants and sponsors to give an in-depth look at a particular tool or approach relating to research software. They are 30-60 minutes long and organised in parallel with other mini-workshop and demo sessions - view the CW22 agenda here. We are looking for sessions connected to one or more of the CW22 themes (Code Review, Ethics, Hybrid Working, and Software Sustainability) in particular, but are happy to consider any proposals relating to research/software. Proposals can also be related to pitches for the CW22 Hack Day.

There are sessions available on Days 2 and 3 of CW22 to:

  • Demonstrate a particular software product, approach or standard.
  • Deliver specific training or an interactive tutorial.
  • Conduct information gathering or explore a topic.
  • Other ideas you may have.

There are two options for these sessions:

  1. 60-minute mini-workshop sessions which require interaction with participants, which can be used for tutorials, information gathering, or other interactive elements relating to your work, project or initiative.
  2. 30-minute demo sessions which can be more presentation-focused with time for participant Q&A.

Please submit your proposal for mini-workshops and demo sessions here.

Social Programme Activities

We thoroughly enjoyed the networking and social activities last year at CW21, and are looking for community members to lead these sessions again this year at CW22. We have the following 60-minute social programme slots available in our agenda for participant-led game nights, yoga or meditation, birds of a feather sessions, quizzes or other ideas:

  • Monday 4 April 2022 from 16:00 - 17:00 BST (17:00 - 18:00 UTC)
  • Tuesday 5 April 2022 from 16:00 - 17:00 BST (17:00 - 18:00 UTC)

Please submit your proposal for Social Programme activities here.
