Interests
I'm an astronomer working in the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics (JBCA) at the University of Manchester. I love writing music, taking pictures, and exploring various machine learning applications.
My work
In my PhD I used radio telescopes to observe radio galaxies and merging galaxy clusters. I'm now a post-doc, working on applying machine learning techniques to astronomy, specifically survey data. I'm also interested in using machine learning for signal analysis, crossing over from astronomy to audio, specifically machine listening studies with music, including genre classification amongst other things.
