The Research Software Camps (RSCs) help address the lack of software skills in research through free online introductory workshops and resources. Our RSCs allow researchers with limited or no experience in software engineering to learn new coding skills and receive personal guidance in a welcoming and supportive environment.
The next Research Software Camp will be held from 19th to 30th June 2023. Over the course of two weeks, we will host a panel discussion, basic skills workshops (R, Python, visualisation, etc.) and a mentorship programme. We will also publish curated online resources throughout the two weeks of the Camp, addressing varying approaches to learning to code in academia. Our team will also be running a parallel social media campaign using #RSCamps on Twitter.
The programme and more information about the mentorship programme can be found in the menu links below.
The Research Software Camp mentorship programme runs from 24th April to 26th June 2023. During the 10 weeks of the programme, mentees will be paired with expert mentors who will provide hands-on help and support to develop specific computational skills over eight weeks.
We are dedicated to providing a welcoming and supportive environment for all people, regardless of background or identity. By taking part in the activities of the Research Software Camp, participants accept to abide by the Software Sustainability Institute's Code of Conduct, and accept the procedures by which any Code of Conduct incidents are resolved.
Here we include all the people that have made this Research Software Camp possible. From instructors and content writers to mentors and mentees, we are very grateful for your contributions and participation. A full list of contributors and participants will be added after the Research Software Camp ends.
