SSI Research Director Caroline Jay has been named as one of the Top 50 Women in Engineering as part of International Women in Engineering Day 2022.

The top 50 list celebrates female engineers with a focus on sustainability and the environment. As well as being the SSI's Research Director, Caroline is head of research at the University of Manchester's School of Engineering.

The Guardian lists Caroline as being one of the Top 50 Women in Engineering for her work "across a number of engineering projects – from collaborating with the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage) to integrate a public voice into Covid-19 modelling, to studying the impact of pollution on health at the Alan Turing Institute. She works to create a culture of belonging and nurture the potential she sees in women from minority ethnic backgrounds."
