Scottish Funding Council logoThe Software Sustainability Institute has received funding from the Scottish Funding Council to deliver two different learning programmes.

With funds from the Scottish Funding Council Workforce Development Fund, we have been able to develop a set of Carpentries-style lessons in both Introductory Statistics and Machine Learning. These courses have long been awaited in the UK research community. The first delivery of the Introductory Statistics workshop is on 20-23 September. Find out more about the course. There will be several runs of both workshops in the coming months: keep an eye on the course webpage.

We will also be delivering a third round of the Workforce Development Data Carpentry, in Spring 2022. This aims to offer programming and Data Science skills to the Scottish workforce. Past editions (Spring 2020 and 2021) have offered the usual suite of Data Carpentry (Python, R, OpenRefine, SQL, Spreadsheets, et al.) to companies and organisations including the NHS, Scottish Water, National Register, National Library of Scotland and Police Scotland. Find out about past and upcoming workshops.
