Research Software Engineer (RSE) Conference

Posted by s.aragon on 21 July 2016 - 4:51pm

The Research Software Engineer (RSE) Conference is the first conference to focus exclusively on the issues that affect people who write and use software in research. Organised by the UKRSE, conference will take place in Manchester on 15th and 16th September 2016. The event has an excellent agenda lined up, with speakers from industry and academia, and a series of talks and workshops from RSEs that investigate everything from the latest tools and engineering practices, to the way the RSE community works. The RSE Conference has attracted contributions from across the world, which will be showcased during an international networking session.

Registration is now open for the Conference. We encourage you to sign up as soon as possible as there has been a huge level of interest in this event - with more people on the waiting list than places available. There will be further announcements when more tickets become available.

The fee is £120. The fee covers both days of the conference, lunches, refreshments and the conference dinner. You will need to arrange your own travel and accommodation – UKRSE have put together a list of hotels.

This event would not have been possible without the support of the UKRSE sponsors: Microsoft Research, Intel, the Scientific Computing Department at STFC, Research IT at the University of Manchester, the Software Sustainability Institute and CANARIE. They would also like to thank EPSRC for their support to the RSE community.

UKRSE is also looking for volunteers to help with the running of the conference. If you would like a free registration in return for helping out, please fill in this form on the conference website.
