Interested in developing a sustainability strategy for your project? Sign up now for SCGI's free, online Focus Week workshop.

The Science Gateways Community Institute (SGCI) is offering a free, online workshop which will focus on offering practical and effective steps for developing a sustainability strategy. This workshop is suitable for program directors, principal investigators, and research teams who are seeking to invigorate their sustainability planning. Whether a team is writing a new grant or ready to get to the next level with a more mature project, this is a perfect foundational workshop!

The SGCI has been offering this project-sustainability training for teams the last four years. This year, they are offering the full curriculum for Focus Week in a new format: online, for 1–2 hours daily over the course of two weeks, 30 November – 10 December. The curriculum includes all of the core topics taught during the in-person workshop, including time to receive feedback from instructors and peers.

There are two ways you can attend:

  1. Register and attend the full workshop.

Participants who register for and attend the full program will enjoy:

  • Direct feedback from course instructors and other gateway leaders in group sessions
  • Participation in the final “pitch” session, to get feedback on your pitch
  • Follow-up to see how you are progressing towards your goals
  • Joining the growing list of alumni who have benefited from attending this program

For those who are planning to use the program to actively develop a sustainability strategy that they can put into action in the near term, this version of the program will be the most impactful.

   2. Attend sessions “a la carte”
You can register and attend just the sessions that interest you, however you won’t have access to personalized instructor feedback. This is a good alternative to those with limited availability.

Registration for the workshop is open until November 23 EOB. See the full agenda and application at https://sciencegateways.org/engage/focus-week.
