The Software Sustainability Institute is looking for a Research Associate who is trained and experienced in social research methods.

The role is based at the University of Manchester and will be part of the eScience Lab team at the Department of Computer Science. Please note – this is not a software engineering post.

The post holder will design and conduct research studies of relevance to the work of the SSI; there will be an initial focus on evaluating the major initiatives run by the Institute and understanding how to improve diversity within the research software community.

If you’re trained or experienced in social research, a good communicator and keen to promote open and reproducible research then the position offers a rewarding role in an empowering environment.

Salary: £33,309 to £40,927 per annum (depending on experience).

Employment type: Fixed Term.

Hours per week: Full time.

Contract Duration: 15 months.
