Free workshop on R for Reproducible Scientific Analysis

Posted by j.laird on 5 May 2022 - 2:48pm

R logoRegister for a free workshop on R for Reproducible Scientific Analysis as part of our upcoming Research Software Camp: Next Steps in Coding.

The workshop will be an introduction to R using gapminder data, designed for participants with no programming experience. The goal of this lesson is to teach novice programmers to write modular code and best practices for using R for data analysis. R is commonly used in many scientific disciplines for statistical analysis and its array of third-party packages.

The emphasis of these materials is to give attendees a strong foundation in the fundamentals of R, and to teach best practices for scientific computing: breaking down analyses into modular units, task automation, and encapsulation.

Note that this workshop will focus on teaching best programming practices and demonstrating the fundamentals using the R programming language, and will not aim to teach statistical analysis or advanced software skills.

The workshop will take place online over two half-days from Wednesday 18 May - Thursday 19 May, 09:00 – 13:30 BST.

Register for the workshop.

The Research Software Camp: Next Steps in Coding will run from 16- 27 May with a focus on improving computational and training skills at beginner and intermediate levels. Find out about the other workshops and sessions taking place during the Camp.
