We're hiring a Communications Officer - help us disseminate software best practice!

Posted by n.chuehong on 27 January 2016 - 4:53pm

The Software Sustainability Institute is recruiting a Communications Officer to communicate the activities of the Institute, and raise its profile in the research community and the general public. We're looking for an enthusiastic individual with a track record in dissemination and outreach. Ideally, they'll have had experience of working with researchers and/or writing technical articles, as well as an understanding of what it takes to nurture a great social media presence and successfully promote events. They should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a high degree of organisational ability as they will be responsible for overlapping tasks and projects.

The successful applicant will be based at the University of Edinburgh, and work closely with Institute staff and collaborators to disseminate information, communicate with our community, develop the Institute's social media networks, and commission articles and news stories relating to the use and development of software within the research community.

If you'd like to join the Institute team, and for more details and to apply, please visit the University of Edinburgh jobs site and search for vacancy reference 035330. Questions about the position should be directed to the Institute Director, Neil Chue Hong. Closing date is Thursday 18th February 2016 at 5pm GMT.
