Announcing our Agents for 2011!
We are very pleased to announce our Agents for 2011!
The Agents network is a group of researchers from a wide range of fields who will help the institute keep up to date on the latest developments in their field. The Agents travel to conferences and send us reports on the discoveries they make and the people they meet. These reports will help us understand the research domains in which we work, and learn about the software we should be working with.
We were inundated with applications for the network – over 130 of them for the 10 places we had on offer. Over two rounds of judging we selected ten outstanding applicants who represent fields as diverse as climate change and sports science. This is an incredible resource for the institute, and a fantastic opportunity for the Agents to attend the conferences that are important to them.
If you would like to know more about our Agents, take a look at the agents profiles.
During the second round of the application process, we asked the Agents to write a blog post about someone else's research. We will be publishing these blog posts over the next few weeks, starting today with a post from Philippe Aeberhard.
