Tired of keeping track of a sea of abbreviations and acronyms? Stefan Freitag has come up with a rather neat solution.
Stefan, who has worked on various D-Grid projects over the last four years, has developed GridAcro, an app for Android Smartphones. It's targeted at Grid and Cloud Computing newbies as well as experts (because anyone can lose track of the hundreds of abbreviations found in their daily work). The problem with abbreviations is the subject of one of our blog posts, so it's nice to see a solution!
GridAcro consists of a dictionary, which currently has more than 350 abbreviations, with their explanations and also links to web pages with more information. Stefan plans to expand the dictionary over time.
The GridAcro app is free of charge and available for download from the Android App Market.
