Applications Open for Digital Catapult Centre Researcher in Residence Programme

Posted by n.chuehong on 29 October 2015 - 11:01am

The Digital Catapult and the RCUK Digital Economy (DE) Theme is now accepting applications for the Researchers in Residence Programme at the Digital Catapult Centre in London.

Junior Residencies: these will enable leading early career researchers to develop their existing research interests within a user-centred project in conjunction with the Digital Catapult. Projects should be relevant to one or more of the current Digital Catapult Challenge Areas. Holders will be based in the Catapult or a relevant user organisation full or near full-time. Projects should be focused on impact generation or commercialisation, whilst also feeding back user experience to the Digital Economy research community.

Senior Residencies: targeted at exceptional researchers with a significant track record in relevant areas for the Digital Catapult. Holders will be expected to help shape Catapult projects, provide thought leadership, and drive the creation of new activities, on either a full time basis or via a series of short secondments to the Catapult.

Eligibility: open to those with a contract of employment at a UK university, or PhD students who have submitted their thesis by the closing date, Sunday 06 December 2015.

Timeline: The closing date is 23:59 on Sunday 06 December 2015, with decisions due by the end of February 2016. Successful applicants are expected to commence their residencies within three months of award. The programme will run for three years, with two funding calls each year. The next round will open for applications in the autumn.

Funding: all residencies will benefit from a grant of up to £25K to cover expenses, including travel and accommodation.

Further information and application forms can be accessed at the call webpage. If you have any questions please email ark20@hermes.cam.ac.uk.
