Make Haste! There is still time to apply (applications close at 5pm British Summer Time on Wednesday 1st 8th October 2014). *DEADLINE EXTENDED!*
Why apply?
Be part of the future of software in your research domain. Gain insight into how software is shaping and advancing your research area.
Promote software best practice in your work, your domain and at your institute. Join the previous recipients of Fellowships in becoming an acknowledged leader of software in research.
You don't have to be a programmer, you don't have to have data, you don't have to do analysis: though these are all excellent qualities. What you do need is a passion for seeing improved practice in your domain and a desire to do things better, and to help others develop and use software and data in a more sustainable and reproducible way that offers credit for all those involved.
With a keen understanding on the benefits of interdisciplinary working and the desire to do things well, you will shape and be shaped by the discussion and practice of software in research afforded by being a Fellow of the Software Sustainability Institute.
To meet like minded people, help your domain or institution, be empowered to talk about software, and develop key collaborative skills to further your career, apply today!
What do you get?
Each Fellow is allocated £3,000 to spend over fifteen months. The funding is flexible to support activities that are beneficial to both the Fellows and the Institute, for instance: to fund travel to conferences, to setup and run workshops, to organise software sustainability sessions at domain conferences, or to organise or teach at Software Carpentry or similar training events.
